Business Intelligence Systems and Metrics for the Network-Centric Enterprise
Conference Paper, Proceedings Institute of Industrial Engineers Annual Conference and Exposition (IIE '06), May, 2006
Abstract
This presentation describes on-going research focused on metrics and business intelligence systems for a new type of business form which we are calling the networked enterprise. Development of the metrics emphasizes analytical techniques that will enhance the network-centric enterprise’s managers’ ability to see the "big picture" and to enable more forward looking, predictive insight. Metrics for this new type of enterprise must assess network behavior characteristics as well. The metrics are being examined in pilot projects utilizing a network business intelligence system that captures and integrates data from participating firms’ production systems.
