Please save the date! Pre-registration is required. Invitations will be sent out in April 2017. Robotics Institute members and a guest are invited to join us for our annual semi-formal. The evening will offer a reception including hot hors d’oeuvres, stations for carving, pasta, fruit, cheese, and dessert as well as hosted non-alcoholic beverages. Cash bar. We will have a dj for the evening so be ready to dance!

Can I come alone?
Of course! This party is for you! Bringing a guest is at your option.

What does semi-formal mean?
“Semi-formal” dress is generally accepted to mean a suit, tuxedo, or dinner jacket for men, and a cocktail-type dress, any length, for the women.

For this event, however, a dress shirt and tie for the men will be acceptable, as will dress slacks or a pantsuit for the women.

Jeans, informal shirts, and tennis shoes are discouraged.
Sometimes a corsage or boutonierre is a nice addition to a semi-formal outfit, and is usually given to one’s “date”.

Should I bring the kids?
Due to the nature of this event, we respectfully request that children be left at home.

How about alcohol and other drinks?
While the non-alcoholic drinks, hot hors d’oeuvres, carving station, pasta bar, fruit, cheese and dessert, dancing, and music are free, the other alcoholic drinks are not.

Alcoholic drinks will be available for you to purchase.

The average price is $6.00 and up for beer and wine, $9.00 and up for a mixed drink.
Alcohol will be served to those guests who are 21 or older. Please bring proof of age, as you may be carded.

Is parking available?
Yes, free valet service is available.

Do I have to RSVP?
YES! You must submit a response from this web page if you are going to be attending.

This is to ensure that more people don’t show up than are planned for, and that we have ample food.

As for phoning or emailing the RSVP – that’s not going to work either.

When do you need to have my response?
The deadline for responses is 5:00 PM on Thursday, April 27nd.

Although our space at The Pittsburgh Golf Club is not limited, we must give a final count by this date, so please respond early.
