BORG

Borg is a framework for the development of distributed systems that act as a whole and have multiple heterogeneous components. Borg is a distributed agent architecture, which can be scaled up to large number of agents. In Borg, there is no server or master agent. The services usually provided by the server and master agent are performed by the agents in this architecture. There is also a high degree of redundancy in Borg, which eliminates dependency on any individual, so that even if significant percentages of the Borg agents are damaged or destroyed, the overall performance is minimally affected. Since there is no central command structure or central storage facility in Borg, it also does not contain a single point of failure, i.e., it is not possible to destroy Borg or cause a security bridge, by eliminating or capturing a few selected individuals.
