Laser Coating Removal

The goals are to design, demonstrate, and validate a robotic laser system capable of selective removal of coatings from aircraft; utilize advanced laser coating removal tools; develop a state-of-the-art robotics system for the automated processing of the aircraft; and develop and validate sensor-based processes to selectively remove coating layers. The complete system will be scalable for use on aircraft from fighter size up to cargo and tanker aircraft.
