Book Section/Chapter, Vision and Navigation: The Carnegie Mellon Navlab, pp. 259 - 282, April, 1990
Abstract
The Navlab is a testbed for research in outdoor navigation, image understanding, and the role of human interaction with intelligent systems. A mobile navigation habitat, it accommodates researchers and significant onboard computing. Applications for navigation vehicles include mapping of hazardous waste sites, off-road haulage, material handling at construction worksites, and exploration of planetary surfaces.
